stryker f-27 f 27 f27 not so though... bad product by parkzone hobbyzone?

Update 17 09 2006 | Hobbyzone parkzone gaps....

Today i got my parkzone stryker B f-27 rc flying wing plane delivered to the front door.  Great so far. But right away i felt: this hybride Z-foam feels like dry thick paper what will rip easely. It feels like the packaging foam it came wrapped in !

Some things bother me compared to other planes i flew:

It sounds twitchy in servo and controles, almost no flap movement up and downwards at all in the easy mode.
Manual does not tell how to open hatch (wich one) and how to install battery.

Battery delivered is 1000 instead of 900 Mah (great!) but for another plane (it states on that battery)  I had to ' hammer'  it in. But then the connector could not fit in the hatch.... It also means that the heavyer side of the 7 cell accu goes in front in stead of back.

It seems that the connector and wires go 'overhead' on top of battery.
It fits very tight, dont need no felcro OR could not even squeese it in, their aint no room left for it.

The fast mode on TX is very flap movementish.
Oh and the flaps , i had to screw one connector further back to have them aligned horizontaly.

No maiden flight yet, but i guess it will not go down easy, allmost no downward flap from zero level. Up has more.

It does not seem much at first glance.... Only the fast mode looks like we have a response from flaps, BUT that is over the top and let's guess, 100% more than on easy mode.  It is all or nothing with this thing?

I could set it up in easy mode with the servo rods and flap eyes to move more up and down, but then the difficult mode ' can break flaps off, as far as they can go then.(They go very far now in difficult mode)

I'll see it all later on maiden flight....

Flew it !!  17 september 2006.  First 'crash' after a full throttle throw in easy mode.
Easy mode? no!  the advanced mode makes a far easyer take off! My plane in easy mode does so little steering, i call it no-steering.... :-( But all the previous planes and FLM training this model made it so i flew a battery empty. But the 2 crashes and to heavy taped on nosecone teared the place behind the nose conde...
Like i suspected, the beginner switch 'easy'  on TX is SHIT ! (For me that is anyways)
I flew it up high on advanced mode and could do it just like in the trainer FLM.
But all pleasures end, and with RC that comes with a depleted battery.
Since this is the Neterhlands (aka Holland), in meanwhile the wind was different from direction and force.
So i thought: put it on easy, glide in, set it down.
Long story short, had not enough by-steer power, to little flap respons in to little degrees from wing...
came in a bit fast (1/4 gas, but steep, wind in back at that precise moment) could not adjust it, so nose came in side ways. Since i also taped the nose a bit more then with the 3 stickers out of the box, it tore behind it, under first 'hatch' :-(
So, nice take off, great flying in advance mode, almost no steering possible in easy mode(wich is the dificult one in my case), and a bit dissapointed in the EPP or what it is made of.
I had faster crashes with silverlit airlifters, many times, and no ripped noses.
Next time i wont tape the nose down this much, it has to come loose i guess.
It was great, fun after a good lift of and flying high, and very disappointing at same time :-(

Now i have to glue and tape the nose part before i can fly it again :-(
But what is best for this dry, light feeling not so bouncy feeling epp(?) foam? Epoxy, 'fast-glue' ?

Inside view of battery / accu straps, it is one medium post-rubberband.

The band seen underneath of plane strengthened and with more grip by a big strong paperclip 90 degrees sideways enforcement. I have it going through the two outer (of the 3) airvent holes, the battery seals them off anyway....
